I’m Sharon Von Simson. I help people and teams work better by boosting creativity, authenticity and fun.
Sharon von Simson is an experienced, international CHRO with a background in engineering and consulting. She lived and worked in the UK, France and Germany in global roles, in chemical and engineering companies, before reinventing herself as a writer and comedian. In 2022, Sharon co-wrote a show called “50 Ways to leave your Employer” and took it to Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her second show “50 Midlife Crises to try before you die” sold out the following year. Back in Cologne, Sharon co-founded a weekly open mic for comedy in English and is also a co-founder of Festrogen, the Luxembourg based comedy festival for feminists of all genders. Sharon believes that serious play is good for business and set up Seriously Funny Business to bring skills and perspectives from the comedy world into the corporate world. Sharon has a passion for bringing the lessons of creativity and authenticity from stand-up comedy into the business environment. Sharon has a degree in Metallurgy from Oxford University, an MBA from INSEAD, is an NLP Master Practitioner, studied Systemic Organisation Development and Change Management at isb Wiesloch, trained in Executive Coaching with Henley Business school and is an ICF qualified coach. She lives in Cologne with her teenage son, which is the real education.
